PolyTerra PLA is a new type of bioplastic 3D printing filament that is not only harder than conventional PLA, but also has a lower environmental impact. By reducing the amount of raw PLA and adding organic materials, the proportion of plastic in the material has been reduced by around 40%. The added organic materials give PolyTerra PLA a matt finish. In addition, Polymaker, the manufacturer of PolyTerra PLA, has teamed up with the non-profit organisation One Tree Planted to plant a tree for every spool sold, further underlining the environmentally friendly aspect of PolyTerra PLA.
