Arlo SmartHub
Arlo SmartHub
According to our research, yes. This hub is compatible with the Arlo range of cameras.
According to the manufacturer, the hub is compatible with the 2nd generation, all compatible cameras for the VMB4540 hub are listed here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility
Unfortunately, the Smart Hub cannot be connected without a LAN cable (i.e. it cannot be connected directly to the WLAN! A direct WLAN connection of the base station with a router (or another device) is not possible, as the WLAN connection of the base station is used exclusively for the base station-camera connection. The base station must be connected to a device via LAN - but it does not necessarily have to be a router. You could use a repeater that is connected to the router via WLAN and to the base station via LAN. Another option would be a WLAN adapter that has a LAN interface for a terminal device, e.g. WNCE2001, WNCE3001 etc. A video link that may help you !!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbOewb95MVI hope I could answer your questions !!!

Arlo has become awful. Their support has vanished. Thea are ending any support on some products. You now MUST take their cloud storage option. My advice is to stay away from Arlo. on many social media platforms their is now unhappiness with Arlo
The cameras are registered at the SmartHub and the network is connected. This is the connection between the cameras and the internet.
