Hello, do I always have to use the B-Fi app to play music with the streamer and an Android smartphone? Or can I also open Spotify directly with an existing connection to Streamer? Or in other words, when I open the B-Fi app and select Spotify, is the interface exactly the same as in the smartphone app or a "reduced version"?

Hi - You certainly don't need to open the B-Fi app anymore once the Audioengine has been installed. Once it's installed, you simply open Spotify or another streaming device, and then the Audioengine should appear in the Devices option on Spotify (next to the play button). This way, the Spotify app streams directly to the Audioengine. It works very well.

The product is wrongly classified under "Bluetooth Audio Adapter". According to the description on the manufacturer's website (https://audioengine.com/newsroom/audioengine-b-fi-multiroom-music-streamer-review-soundstage-experience/), the device does not support Bluetooth: "The B-Fi does not receive via Bluetooth -- it's strictly a Wi-Fi streamer". It is a network player with multi-room capabilities. Audioengine also offers a Bluetooth audio adapter. It is called the B1.

Which Bluetooth reciever draws power directly from the 12 volt hi-fi system? I need one on the sailing boat with 12V power. So no device that is connected to the 220V socket.

Hello - this receiver basically needs "only" USB power (power requirements 5V, 300ma - it is powered via USB) - i.e. less than the 12V DC that you have - i.e. do you have a 12v cig socket in the boat? Put a 12v to USB plug in there (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/producttype/mobilgeraet-fahrzeugzubehoer-464?pdo=3403-21341%3A277334&tagIds=82-537), put the part in there, that's it - my2cents - hope that helps and LG
