It depends on your laptop, your screen and your usage. Usually you have an HDMI output on a computer and an HDMI input on your monitor. You can check with the pictures on the internet to make sure that you have HDMI ports on your computer and on your monitor. Beware that some recent computers only have usb-c output, you will need either an adapter or a usb-c to HDMI cable.

The question for me is not so much gold-plated connections or not, but that the cable does what it promises without any problems. Gold-plated connections alone are no guarantee for reliable data transmission! I have been using a Samsung monitor C49RG94SSU, 5120 x 1440 (4K) with 120 Hz for about 3 months now, so far without any problems. Target fully met. There's nothing more annoying than trying/testing cables for such quite high requirements until you finally find one that works.

Helpful answer

No, this is not an HDMI cable, the clear feature is the one straight side. The difference is better explained here https://www.turn-on.de/tech/ratgeber/displayport-vs-hdmi-was-sind-die-unterschiede-und-ist-besser-441368 In addition, many devices only have one HDMI connection, which also makes them very uniform.

To be precise: No, it is not the same product. You can see from the pictures that this cable has a different plug than the linked cable from KarmCraft.com. Furthermore, the manufacturer numbers are also different (CAC-1096 vs. CAC-1096B). I can imagine that the "B-version" has been revised.
