This box is compatible with the DVB-C signal and allows you to receive all the free-to-air TV and radio channels broadcast on this network, including in HD. It can therefore replace the UPC decoder for an old TV without a DVB-C tuner, by plugging the coaxial cable into this receiver, then connecting it to the TV via HDMI or SCART. With regard to returns in the event of non-functioning, the Opticum brand has a returns rate of around 5% in the TV receiver category, which indicates that returns are possible, but it is advisable to check the precise conditions of return with the seller before ordering. In summary, this DVB-C receiver is suitable for receiving UPC-Sunrise channels on an old TV without a DVB-C tuner, and a return is generally possible under the seller's conditions.

Unfortunately, the device can only be used for unencrypted channels/cable offerings. UPC and other providers in Switzerland encrypt their signals in such a way that they can only be decrypted with the receiver boxes from the provider itself, as well as from the receivers built into TV sets.
