The Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar comes with wireless rear speakers that function as surround speakers. These are included in the scope of delivery and offer a comprehensive surround sound experience. The confusion may have been caused by unclear descriptions in the packaging, but according to the specifications, the rear speakers are part of the system.
The Samsung HW-Q990C soundbar does not support Chromecast. This feature is not included in this model, despite its extensive range of other connectivity and audio format support options.
I ordered a few stands from the big German giant (am****). They are cheaper than the originals from Samsung.
The name of the article is: "Mounting Dream speaker stand height adjustable for satellites up to 5KG, set of 2 floor stands"
You're sure to find what you're looking for 😉
At checkout, when selecting a delivery option, you can indicate a preferred logistics partner (and therefore specify whether you prefer delivery to be made by Swiss Post or Planzer). :)
To achieve optimum surround sound, Samsung does not recommend installing the speakers on the ceiling - a height of 1m20 would be optimal. There are no specific wall brackets for these speakers. However, you can adapt universal brackets for them. Or place them on small wall bookshelves
I put the satellites next to my sofa, which is also stuck to the wall, and it works. Otherwise, I think it's a shame and a bit pointless to put them at the front.
The Samsung HW-Q990C is the next generation of the Samsung HW-Q990B, and although both are very high quality models that can appeal to many different listeners, the next generation model is better overall. The units are very similar in design and have a similar sound, although the bass of the Q990C is a little more controlled.
The HW-Q995GC is probably the successor to the B. It is said to have an improved Q-Symphony function.
SpaceFit Sound Pro and Adaptive Sound have also been improved. Game Mode Pro 2.0, which was developed especially for gaming, has also been improved.
There are other small but subtle differences, so a lot has been optimised in terms of sound technology.
I am also interested in purchasing a HW-Q990C system, and I'm not sure if an exact answer has been given to a similar question below: Reading the contents of the box, you don't really know if surround speakers are part of the offering. The description actually mentions "rear speakers". But further on in the specifications, under scope of delivery it only says 1x Samsung Soundbar HW-Q990C, 1x Wireless Subwoofer. It leads me to think that there are no surround speakers with this offer. Really an unclear description of the scope of delivery, in my opinion.
To connect the small speakers (surround speakers) to the Samsung Soundbar HW-Q990C, follow these steps:
## Connecting the surround speakers
1. connect the speaker cables to the wireless receiver module:
- Plug the grey cable into the grey socket of the receiver and the blue plug into the blue socket of the receiver. Match each coloured socket connected to the speaker cable with the same coloured label on the back of the speaker.
2. switch on the radio receiver module:
- Check that the blue LED on the back of the receiver is flashing. If the LED indicator does not flash, press and hold the ID SET button on the back of the receiver module for at least 5 seconds.
3. initialise the connection:
- Switch off the soundbar and press the UP button on the remote control until the 'ID SET' indicator appears on the soundbar display. This display disappears immediately.
4. confirm the connection:
- Switch the soundbar on again. The blue LED on the receiver module should light up solid blue, indicating a successful connection.
The Samsung Soundbar "HW-Q990C" offers several connection options that make it easy to connect multiple devices and switch between them without having to re-pair each time.
### Bluetooth and WLAN connections
- The soundbar supports Bluetooth, which makes it possible to pair multiple Bluetooth devices and switch between them. However, the number of simultaneously connected Bluetooth devices is usually limited, typically to two or three devices.
- A more practical solution could be to use Wi-Fi. With the Samsung SmartThings app, you can connect the soundbar to your Wi-Fi network and use multiple devices over the same network. This makes it possible to connect multiple sources such as PCs and mobile devices and switch between them without having to re-pair each time.
### Multi-device connection via SmartThings app
- The SmartThings app supports the connection of multiple devices to the soundbar, making it easier to switch between different sources such as PCs and mobile devices without the need for re-pairing.
### Further connection options
- In addition to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, you can also use wired connections such as HDMI or optical cables to connect devices. However, these connections are less flexible when it comes to switching between multiple sources.
Overall, the Samsung Soundbar "HW-Q990C" offers a good solution for connecting multiple devices and switching between them without having to re-pair each time thanks to the combination of Bluetooth and, in particular, Wi-Fi connections via the SmartThings app.
