Don't buy for the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)
I am giving 2 stars (partially answer my expectations) because one of the reasons I bought it is for the automatic document feeder (which is duplex one-pass on this model). All the scans using the feeder are skewed in the top half. Even when scanning both sides, both sides are skewed. HP support had misunderstood my request for support and thought it was due to something stuck inside so they came and replaced the ADF top cover, then came back to replace the full ADF unit. The scans were still skewed and I complained but HP support told me that they wouldn't have come to assist if they knew this was the issue because it is expected that scans using feeder on those series 400 Pro MFP can have max 2.5mm difference (straight line appears angled for example) between bottom and top margins after scan. They told me that I must use glass scanner for precision because the Pro 400 models feeder have only one pick-up roller to catch the paper, at the center of the tray. What? So the feeder is expected to be skewed if you buy this Pro model! Not written anywhere except on a support page for another model that the technician told me is valid for this model as well... I was advised by HP to buy an Enterprise model 600 series if I don't want skewed scans with the feeder because it has 4 pick-up rollers. Did you see the size and price of those? What a pile of non-sense. I had a much cheaper HP printer Envy series a year ago and the scans with the feeder were never skewed. And it had only one pick-up roller at the center.
And of course I'm the only idiot that didn't know if I buy a pro model I should expect skewed scans! :D So obvious. I don't understand why so many good reviews? Also Scan to computer: forget about it. Same years old bundled software that still doesn't work. This printer model exists since 2018, it's just a 2021 revision.
Printing works well and I recommend the model without ADF for that purpose.Pro

A good device in itself, but the fact that you have to log in to scan is unacceptable :-(
A great device in itself. I find it completely unacceptable that you need the "HP Smart" to scan, which only works if you log in. I find this coercion to have to open an online account for a standard function completely wrong. I would therefore never buy again.

Flawless as a printer/scanner/copier. Installation is very time-consuming.
Once the printer is set up, it works perfectly. The installation is rather complicated and very time-consuming for a layman.
Toner costs are a absoooolute impudence!
Have bought the printer about 1/2 year ago and now had to change all toners. The 415A version costs (3 colors plus 1 black) a total of over CHF 400.- > actually it would be better to always change the whole printer. This is simply not sustainable and actually just a mess.
