Easy to install and even easier to use

The product is excellent. Very easy to install and with the HUE app, after a short familiarization period, even easier to use.
CAUTION: For HUE beginners like me, these bulbs shine only in a white tone and can not be adjusted.
    But they can be dimmed.

Difficult birth, but ingenious in the end

The HUE Bridge simply belongs to it, otherwise a comfortable operation via HUE app is not possible. The color temperature of the bulbs is simply 2700 Kelvin, and thus not adjustable. The brightness can be dimmed, whereby the color temperature is dimmed down more yellow, and dimmed up whiter, which is closer to the behavior of a normal light bulb. The remote has a large 3-volt CR2450 (550 mA) button cell, rather than a smaller CR2032 (210 mA). Thus, I expect it to last longer. The instruction leaflet is very rudimentary. I did not find a detailed instruction manual on the Philips homepage. Either I was too stupid, or the manual is too well hidden, or there is none at all. If you practice for a few hours, and grasp the philosophy of the operating concept, it's actually still brilliantly implemented. The best order was, install app, install and update bridge, create rooms. Add bulbs, add switches, update bulbs and remotes. Since the Bridge just numbers all the components it finds, you should install room by room to be able to tell which components need to be assigned to which room. The Bridge finds bulbs immediately, but not light panels. You have to reset them with the remote control by holding it close to the panel and pressing ON and OFF simultaneously for several seconds until the panel flashes. After that the panel is found by the bridge, but the remote control is no longer paired with the panel. You can book it back into the bridge by going into the HUE app and selecting Settings - Accessory Setup - Add Accessories - Hue Dimmer switch, then press the end of a paperclip into the reset hole on the remote for several seconds until it flashes, then press LED BLINKS in the app. Then nothing happens for a while, and suddenly it's there. After changes, always press Save again in the top right of the app.

    Pro

    • Bridge with HUE app
    • Quality of the components

    Contra

    • Instruction leaflet insufficient
    • Initial setup needs patience
    • The bridge permanently draws 3 watts day in and day out. Modems, routers and smartphones do the same.
