Cool idea. Operation and interface is good. For people who miss the keyboard and mouse on the tablet, certainly a good idea. Unfortunately, I can't get DeX to work on a monitor it was running on before. On other monitors and the TV it still runs fine.
Pro
- Good idea
- Samsung S8+ has enough power to work almost like a small PC.
Contra
- Apps are partly only conditionally better from the mobile view
- Troubleshooting is only possible to a certain extent. Except for advertising, hardly any tourbleshooting articles on the web.
- Flip cover to the side doesn't work, because you can't open the cover in the DeX

purchased this productUnusable because it only works without the smartphone case.
The smartphone can only be used in this charging cradle without a case, i.e. the case has to be removed each time beforehand for the connection to work properly: therefore unusable for me.

Works as described. Unfortunately, not all apps such as netflix or swisscom tv are supported in volbild mode. This is remedied by an app called ^dex max^. Here you can recompile apps in expert mode so that they run in full-screen mode. How this affects updates remains to be seen - you probably have to repeat the process every time. It would be nice if more apps were supported out of the box - but at least there is a solution. Whatsapp is a problem - as it tries to scan a code which is difficult when the phone is in dex dock - I haven't found a solution yet..TV recognition is quick - so is my logitech k400 wireless keyboard - and in combination with a bluetooth headset you can work productively and make full use of the phone function. So far, as an early adopter, I am satisfied
