My 4th failed attempt on Samsung Neo G9 57

Up to this point, I've experimented with four Samsung Neo G9 57 units since it's release. I believe people wouldn't have considered my feedback credible unless I had thoroughly documented my experiences.

    I would like to
express my gratitude to Samsung for providing me with this exceptional and unforgettable experience.

My 1st purchase from Samsung FR

    My 2nd purchase from Digitec
    Full panel issue

    My 3rd purchase from Digitec
Popping sounds coming from the monitor's left side & mega dead pixel

    My 4th purchase from Digitec
Popping sounds coming from the monitor's left and right sides.
    https://youtu.be/SjyjSnE0q2...
I received a refurbished monitor from Digitec that was advertised as new. Upon inspection, I noticed that the original box had been opened, there was no screen protection, and the whole panel was covered in fingerprints. It was evident that someone had returned it previously due to popping sounds, yet Digitec decided to repackage it and sell it to another customer.

Idea of monitor and picture top - Samsung quality miserable

Conclusion after one year reattached at the bottom.

Note - had to re-evaluate after warranty claim - see my comments below. Summary: Picture top, idea top - workmanship from Samsung: bottom class.
    In the current version,
I would now wait until a later generation before buying. Qualitatively an expensive disappointment.

    Originally
I have just switched from a flat 40" 4K to this new monitor. After two days (and nights) I have to say - definitely no going back!
I've been lusting after something like this for a long time, but the 1440 height was always too low for me because of the CAD and other office apps. The others here have already gone into the technical aspects enough.
I think the quality of the monitor is ok, it looks good and the white back makes it less bulky as it takes up a lot of space on/above the table when curved.
I found the radius in the specs a bit tight at first with only 1 metre, but in practice it is just right. I need reading glasses in front of the PC, and with a larger radius this would be a hindrance at the ends because the focus range would be lost there. The slightly smaller height of 2160 than the 40" makes employees more comfortable, turning the head is less tiring than nodding. One change is the background or the setting for it. There's a lot of space in front of your head: using dark designs helps, with white designs there's too much light directly in front of your head - but that's a matter of taste.
My old monitor was hanging on the wall, fortunately it's an arm with a 25kg load. That's why I can't say anything about the table stand. The arm must be quite strong, it's clearly a size too big. Compared to the flat ones, the curved Samsung in this massive size has an enormous tilting moment at the centre back and puts a strain on the joints, especially the one for tilting, which should be two sizes bigger.
You also have to be aware that this monitor is not the only one - it also pulls other components along with it. With the old 3070 card, which is ideal for 4K, Office apps at best still work satisfactorily at the high resolution. In MS Flu-Si (my only game), it dropped to just 4-7 frames at full resolution !!!! With a 2 year old card, mind you. With the AMD 7900 it's back to 50 FPS - acceptable for the hunger of SW. Just means having to invest over a thousand more. I chose the AMD because of DP2.1 and the price is still ok compared to the spinners from Nvidia. In two years it will look different again, but the monitor will stay.
Power consumption is one of those things, it's fine for office use - the game draws something out of it. But if I can work more comfortably at home in the home office and don't have to commute, it's justifiable...

    NextGen Monitor...

I have the Odyssey G9/49", the Odyssey OLED G9/49" and now the Odyssey Neo G9/57". All live up to their 'reputation'. However, the 57" screen (7680 x 2160 pixels/32:9) is really an upgrade that is worth seeing. An absolute 'game changer'! The casing of the OLED G9/49" is, however, much higher quality than that of the other two models mentioned. From my point of view, I find the 1000R curvature in both sizes 49"/57" much more pleasant than the 1800R on the OLED G9/49". For working as well as for gaming. The positioning of the stand on the 57" has been optimised somewhat, i.e. the monitor no longer 'wobbles' so much - but the OLED G9 has a much better and more elegant stand. Connections/interfaces not adequate for a high-end product, as always with Samsung. Today's price of CHF 2,299 is too high (price/performance). The colour intensity is better on the OLED.
NOTE: NVIDIA flagship RTX 4090 does not support DP 2.1 ! So you can't use the monitor with 240Hz (a testimony to NVIDIA / therefore max.120Hz at 7680 x 2160 with DP 1.4 - DP 1.4 simply can't 'swallow' the data rate at this resolution). Only the AMD 7900s have DP 2.1 interfaces as of today. There are discussions going on (web) if NVIDIA can solve this with a firmware update, my opinion is NO they won't be able to. The only thing to do is to wait for the next gen. RTX 5090'. Here at Digitec, under the Gaming section, it says --> AMD Freesync Premium Pro, nVidia G-Sync; which I cannot underline. The Samsung website (TechSpec) also clearly states G-Sync N/A, which is also confirmed for me in the NVIDIA control panel (not even compatibility is shown). We don't need to discuss power consumption and waste heat. I use the monitor for my home office and for gaming (especially MSFS 2020). All I can say is - 'I love this thing'! The anti-reflective coating is absolutely top! Picture Li. the 57" & Re. the OLED 49".

    Only problems

Previously had the 49 Odyssey. I do simacing and therefore decided in favour of the 57 inch. Always had problems with the Adaptive Sync right from the start. Today it gave up the ghost completely, nothing works any more. After 3 months.

    Huge

The monitor makes quite an impression. Unfortunately, the automatic brightness adjustment takes some getting used to - it doesn't adjust to the room brightness but to the average brightness of the picture content...

    Unfortunately,
the joy came to an end after 6 months: the right-hand side of the screen suddenly went blank with red flickering and has not displayed the colours correctly since then.
