Expectations must be measured against the product price. It is a fairly inexpensive 5.1 sound system, so you can't expect top quality. Because it doesn't have that. Nevertheless, as a 5.1 beginner, I think it has acceptable quality. Bass is good (adjustable).
The following should be noted (and I would have liked to have known this before buying):
1) The two speakers for the rear are NOT wireless. Both are connected by cable to a receiver - only this does not need a cable to the soundbar/bass, but one for power.
2) An HDMI for (e)ARC is NOT included in the scope of delivery. You either have to buy one or use the optical connection, for which it has a cable.
3) You cannot configure the speakers for the rear (volume etc.) - they run on a default setting (rather quiet).
For sound beginners, I give it 3 stars. But an enthusiast would certainly be disappointed.
For the price of, for me it was still 299.- plus I just had a 25.- discount, so 274.-, you can't say anything. Looks good and is easy to install. The transmitter from the subwoofer to the receiver on the surround speakers works perfectly (I have the receiver under the sofa). I'm used to a different sound for more expensive Sony systems, of course, but for the price and on a tight budget, you can use it very well. It sounds ok, the voices are a little too quiet, there's very little you can do to it and the differences in the settings are minimal. I'll leave it and buy a Sonos and our junior will get this little one when he moves out :-). It's a pity that there are no real systems like this with good sound anymore...under 5000 ;-).
