Piezo-activated switches IP68. Push-button switches that operate based on the piezoelectric effect. A press on the actuator surface generates a piezo signal voltage, which is internally amplified and processed to create a short electrical pulse. This results in a brief "contact closure" of 10 to 1000 mm (depending on the actuation force and speed). With no moving parts, these switches offer high reliability and insensitivity to ESD. They are particularly suitable for safety applications with minimal monitoring in outdoor environments. They function over a wide temperature range and are resistant to oils and many chemicals. The switches are available in two sizes, 18 mm and 25 mm, and in a variety of colors. For the 25 mm format, halo lighting is available. Internal limiting resistors allow the operation of the LEDs at 24 volts. The non-illuminated versions are connected via loose wires (0.22 mm²) with factory-stripped and tinned ends. The illuminated versions are connected via 5-pin header connectors with a 2.54 mm pitch.
