Piezo-activated switches IP68. Push buttons that operate based on the piezoelectric effect. A press on the actuation surface generates a piezo signal voltage, which is internally amplified and processed to create a short electrical impulse. This results in a brief "contact closure" of 10 to 1000 mm (depending on the actuation force and speed). No moving parts, high reliability, and insensitivity to ESD. These switches are particularly suitable for safety applications with minimal monitoring in outdoor environments. They operate over a wide temperature range and are resistant to oils and many chemicals. The switches are available in two sizes, 18 mm and 25 mm, and in a variety of colors. For the 25 mm format, halo illumination is available. Internal limiting resistors allow the operation of the LEDs at 24 volts. The connection for the non-illuminated versions is made via loose wires (0.22 mm²) with factory-stripped and tinned ends. The connection for the illuminated versions is made through 5-pin header connectors with a 2.54 mm pitch.
