You'll still have to pay a little more for a real home cinema, but as a flexible projector for use at home and on the move, the Samsung The Freestyle for 999 euros (RRP)...
Samsung's Freestyle is not rewriting home cinema history, and it doesn't have to! The projector is the perfect device for watching the World Cup semi-finals at friends' barbecues. Technically, however, it is a little weak.
The Samsung The Freestyle is a mobile mini-projector with all the convenience of a full-blown Smart TV. It needs no external players to project natural images with a diagonal of up to 70 inches onto any white surface. Even the sound has not been neglected by Samsung; all that is needed is a powerful battery pack and the smart beamer is completely self-sufficient.
With The Freestyle, Samsung has focused on easy operation and particularly smart features. This has been achieved perfectly thanks to the integration of Tizen Smart TV and WLAN. On top of that, the picture quality is excellent and the sound quality is adequate. It is therefore acceptable that important accessories such as a case or an external battery are only available as options...
The smart mobile projector from Samsung does what it is supposed to do, and does it very well. The light output, however, is somewhat meagre and the possible uses are therefore limited to dark environments. And even then, its image cannot keep up with full-fledged home cinema projectors...
