Awaken emotions with the highest image quality! Enjoy the utmost optical quality of the Samyang MF 85mm T1.5 VDSLR MK2 Canon EF during your shoots. It is a revised edition of the popular Samyang MF 85mm T1.5 Video DSLR II Canon EF, featuring several updates. With a Canon EF mount, the lens is also compatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 6K camera.

Suitable for any shoot. This 85mm portrait lens excels with its aperture range from T1.5 to T22, full-frame image circle, and compact size of 74.7mm in length and 561.6g in weight. Thus, the Samyang MF 85mm T1.5 VDSLR MK2 Canon EF is ideal for use on drones, gimbals, car mounts, during action shots, handheld, and with its close focusing distance of 110cm, even in tight situations. It is perfectly suited for portrait photography, playing with depth of field, telephoto shots, and detail shots that draw attention to the subject.

Ready for follow focus. Change lenses in no time! Thanks to the identical positioning of the gear rings for focus and aperture in the Samyang MK2 series of video lenses, you practically need to make no adjustments. The focus throw of 140° and the aperture throw of 48° allow for precise adjustments.

Proven construction. Delight your audience with dreamy images or crystal-clear, sharp views – all with the same lens! The optical design of the Samyang MF 85mm T1.5 VDSLR MK2 Canon EF ensures razor-sharp images without distortion. A total of 9 elements are arranged in 7 groups, including 1 ASP special lens. Samyang's proprietary UMC multi-coating (Ultra Multi Coating) effectively prevents aberrations, reflections, and ghosting. The new iris, with its 9 rounded blades, creates round highlights in the out-of-focus areas of the bokeh and 18-pointed sun stars at smaller apertures.

Key specifications

Lens type

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
