The Harmony XPS Universal safety relays are optimally suited for various safety applications thanks to their selectable safety functions and start options via front-mounted rotary switches. This reduces the variety of devices needed, and with the diagnostic function, states can be easily transmitted to a PLC, thereby minimizing downtime in case of errors through clear fault indications. The required function can be easily set from six selectable safety functions. Mechanical contacts from emergency stop/reset buttons, position switches, magnetic switches, two-hand controls type IIIA, electronic PNP sensors, light curtains, or RFID safety switches with OSSD outputs can be connected to the inputs. For the start function, automatic, manual, or monitored start options are available, along with an optional start test. This safety switching device features a safe relay changeover contact and a diagnostic message as outputs. With the help of qualified diagnostics, states and errors are detected and transmitted via a telegram through direct wiring to a standard input of a PLC. A pre-made function block for common control systems evaluates these messages, ensuring that the operator is comprehensively informed on the machine display. The supply voltage ranges from 48-240 VAC/DC, and connections are made via detachable screw terminals. Applications up to safety level SIL1/PL c can be realized. Installation is done by snapping onto a DIN rail or by screw fastening onto mounting plates. To protect the settings under the transparent cover, a clearly numbered locking band is included.
