One lens - infinite possibilities: From landscape shots to portraits to sports and action shots, the flexible 24-240mm 10x zoom lens covers everything a photographer's heart desires. Five aspherical elements and an ED glass are installed inside the compact lens to ensure that the image quality is right over the enormous focal length range from wide-angle to telephoto. Sony relies on the powerful "Advanced Linear" AF motor for this model, so that the autofocus can focus fast and responsive from close-up to far distance.
The optical image stabilization "Optical SteadyShot" (OSS) takes care of the blur-free image capture. Especially in the telephoto area, the mechanical helper is worth its weight in gold.
For the new SEL24240, as for all Sony full-size lenses, dust and moisture can hardly touch it.

Das FE3,5-6,3/24-240 mm OSS, das einen weiten Bereich der interessantesten Brennweiten abdeckt, ist beinahe schon als Megazoom zu bezeichnen. Leider zeigt es aber auch die für Megazooms üblichen Schwächen: Im Weitwinkel geht es außerhalb der Bildmitte mit Auflösung und Kontrast steil bergab...
Obwohl das Sony einige kleine Schwächen hat kann es dennoch insgesamt mit den Leistungen überzeugen. Dabei kann man die Verzeichnung ebenso vernachlässigen wie die Auflösungsschwächen in der Anfangsöffnung. Die Mechanik ist sauber verarbeitet und die Gängigkeit sehr gut.
