The FC9 Alpha features a slightly modified design compared to the FC9S. It now includes a USB 3.0 port on each side, improved internal drive mounting, as well as a refined surface treatment and smaller tolerances. This is the "Optical" version with a slot for an optical drive. For systems without such a drive, a version with a continuous front without an opening is also available. This sandblasted aluminum case offers a variety of features such as Direct Touch Heatpipe cooling, a universal eject button for the optical drive, and slightly more space for drives thanks to the new hard drive mounting. The FC9S Alpha is much more than just a computer case - like a work of art, it combines form and function. It can accommodate not only Mini-ITX motherboards but also those in the common Micro-ATX standard, providing not just one but three low-profile expansion slots. Minimalist design and the use of high-quality materials continue to characterize the case. The entire outer shell (including the power button and eject button) is made of sandblasted aluminum. The FC9S Alpha features passive CPU cooling with four heat pipes, including mounting materials for all current sockets. CPUs with a TDP of up to 95 watts (with sufficient airflow around the case) can be operated passively, with a recommendation of 65 watts TDP.
