The new XCS-L safety locking switches with magnetic locking replace the XCK-J series. The XCS-L switches have the same functions as the XCK-J switches, but many features that were previously optional are now standard in the XCS-L series. These safety locking switches provide better operator protection in high-performance applications. They have been developed in accordance with applicable standards to ensure the safety of machine operators and operational reliability.

The switches are available in metal or plastic housings and feature a user-rotatable head. They offer up to 6 contacts (up to 3 safety contacts and up to 3 electromagnetic contacts), all with forced opening. The resistance to forced opening of the actuating keys is 314.7 lbs (1400 N) for plastic versions and 674.4 lbs (3000 N) for metal versions.

Tension spring terminals allow for quick and easy wiring. Available cable entries are 1/2 inch - 14 NPT or M20 x 1.5 mm with 3 conduit openings. Mini connectors are also available. Available solenoid voltages are 24 V AC/DC, 120 V AC, or 230 V AC. An emergency release on the back allows the door or lock to be opened to exit the interior of machines or work cells.

The switches use the same actuating keys as the other XCS safety locks with metal housing. All wiring is introduced through a conduit opening in the switch. Two LEDs are included as standard. The protection rating is IP67.
