The Digibit Twin is what you would expect from a plug-and-play solution: connect, switch on, watch TV. We could not detect any problems, not even in long-term operation with VDR over several weeks. With a power consumption of just over 4 watts in standby and only just under 6.5 watts with two active tuners, connected to a multi-switch, there was nothing to complain about in terms of energy consumption.

The TELESTAR DIGIBIT TWIN offers an innovative solution for the distribution of digital satellite signals via the home network. With this compact SAT>IP router, up to 2 subscribers can be supplied with high-resolution HDTV and radio programmes. In contrast to conventional satellite distributions, which run via multiple LNBs or multi-switches, the DIGIBIT TWIN integrates the network as an additional transmission path. This opens up possibilities for the distribution of digital television signals. The principle of the DIGIBIT TWIN is simple: it converts the received satellite signals into IP technology and makes them available via the router in the home network. The converted signals can then be distributed via LAN and/or WLAN to up to 2 network connections in the house and used by IPTV-capable end devices. The TELESTAR DIGIBIT TWIN supports both HDTV and SDTV satellite programmes in good picture and sound quality, including Dolby Digital. Additional functions such as teletext and EPG data retrieval, recording function and time-shifted playback (timeshift) are also available. Installation of the DIGIBIT TWIN is straightforward thanks to plug&play pre-programming. Configuration can be carried out conveniently via the web interface from any computer in the connected network. With its robust and compact design in a multi-switch look, the DIGIBIT TWIN is also characterised by its low energy consumption.
