In the design and development of the OpenScape Desk Phone CP TDM phone family, customer feedback has been incorporated into the existing product portfolio, and specific features have been intentionally improved. The development of the new phone family aims for perfect integration into office workplaces that expect a professional tool for their communication needs.

A new and more intuitive user interface, LEDs in the function keys for a more intuitive representation of statuses, significantly improved visibility of the LED lighting of the function keys even in bright ambient light, a mechanical toggle switch that is robust and provides haptic feedback, a concave key shape with a clearer, improved pressure point, and a stable and adjustable base for positioning the phones at a flat or steep angle.

Both models of the OpenScape Desk Phone CP TDM family offer a USB interface (USB slave) for using PC applications via 1st Party CTI. Additionally, both models provide a headset connection with DHSG/EHS functionality.
