Venus Optic

This compact and lightweight fixed focal length from Laowa is optimised for macro photography with 2.5x to 5x magnification. The lens with a focal length of 25 mm and a speed of f/2.8 is suitable for ambitious hobby photographers as well as for professional macro photography - both indoors and outdoors. The macro lens impresses with its low image field curvature, even sharpness over the entire image field and low distortion. It is particularly suitable for capturing small objects as faithfully as possible up to a scale of 1:1. It allows you to get very close to an object without blurring the image. This allows you to take impressive close-ups with a high level of detail. This lens can only be focused manually. Although manual focusing takes longer and is more demanding than working with autofocus, it offers several advantages: It allows you to focus exactly on the point you want, giving you shots that are exactly what you want. Even in situations where autofocus would quickly be overwhelmed - for example, in low light, smooth surfaces with little texture or in foggy weather - you prefer to focus manually.

Key specifications

Lens type

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
