Fieldbus Coupler PROFIBUS DP, 1st Generation, 12 MBd. This fieldbus coupler connects the WAGO I/O system as a slave to the PROFIBUS fieldbus. The bus coupler detects all plugged I/O modules and creates a local process image from them. This can involve a mixed arrangement of analog (word-wise data exchange) and digital (bit-wise data exchange) modules. The image is then displayed in the memory of the responsible controller via the PROFIBUS fieldbus. The local process image is divided into an input and output data area. The process data can be read via the PROFIBUS and further processed in a controller. The process output data is output via the PROFIBUS. The data from the analog modules is stored in the automatically created process image in the order of their position after the bus coupler. The bits from the digital modules are combined into bytes and appended to the analog data. If the number of digital I/O exceeds 8 bits, the coupler automatically starts another byte.
