Are the edges really as thin as they look in the photo?

Helpful answer

No!
The edges/margins are each 7mm wide and 10mm at the bottom edge.
Unfortunately, you can't see this in the pictures and it doesn't correspond to reality.
I employ this screen on a daily basis and I find the edges/borders visually pleasing. Not too thin, not too thick.
The picture quality in terms of gaming and the colour spectrum for professional image editing is unparalleled on the market.
The handling, however, is absolutely unworthy of a premium Philips brand screen.
What may not seem so important to one person can be an absolute deal-breaker for another.
I therefore recommend that, if possible, you look at the screen somewhere or even test it. If not, you can find test videos on YouTube where the edges/borders are also clearly visible.

I don't know exactly what you mean by edges. The screen goes all the way to the outside, that much can be said. As far as the depth of the screen is concerned, the screen is initially convex-rounded towards the back to a thickness of approx. 3 cm, after which it becomes approx. 7 cm thick in the area of the relatively heavy mount.

What can also be said is that the combination with a Mac is disastrous and the screen sometimes simply switches itself on again even when switched off. Operation and operating instructions are absolutely inadequate. My last Philips screen ever.

They are not the thickest ones as I can remember but the screen is well protected. My package arrived quite damaged on the outside (thanks Planzer), but everything inside had no damage.
