Attention and note. It is not compatible with NVMe SSD. I bought it but it does not work! It should be made clear. There is a declaration but it is too complicated to understand what it means. "Not compatible with NVMe SSD" would be simple and clear! The Ssd gets very hot I hope not damaged and not detectable by Windows ! I bought another one that is compatible with NVMe.

Thank you Dejan! I wish I had read your text before I bought it...

Once again: This ICY Box uses the SATA transfer protocol! This is NOT compatible with the NVME Express protocol.

This product fits:
Samsung 860 EVO (1000GB, M.2 2280)

This does not:
Samsung 970 EVO Plus (1000GB, M.2 2280)

I also had the same problem:
I bought a Corsair MP400 - NMVe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 SSD, 2TB, and I thought the Icy Box IB183-M2 could read it.
You should make it CLEAR, I agree with what said above: it is NOT clear at all.
It's not for the 23.40 CHF, but for the time spent researching, and the fear to have damaged the hard drive...
Finally I read Dejan post, THANK YOU!
Let's buy the next case (Icy Box IB-1817M-C31 - NVMe M.2) and see if that works...
Finger crossed!

There are two types of SSD: M.2 and NVMe. NVMe are newer and not compatible with ICY. It is only compatible with M.2 cards. Do not use NVMe in the ICY BOX.

it is made clear. the box says "for M.2 SATA SSD". this automatically excludes NVMe, especially as this is NOT a "SATA SDD". should the company also point out that you should not plug in an M.2 wireless adapter?
