Bought the AMD Ryzen 7 3800X processor (3rd Gen) for this motherboard a while ago as I thought it should run. However, the processor does not run, so I am now using my old AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (2nd Gen) again.
At
https://rog.asus.com/ch-de/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b450-f-gaming-model/spec
it says that 1st 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD processors would run "/2nd and 1st Gen AMD Ryzen".
Here
https://rog.asus.com/ch-de/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b450-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_manual
but it only says "AM4 socket for AMD Ryten 2nd Generation / Ryzen with Radeon Vega Graphics / Ryzen 1st Generation".
as I said, the new processor does not work for me, can anyone help me here?
What you have looked up if the CPU on this mainboard only with the information "1st 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD processors" is a little too little.
Every manufacturer keeps a list of all CPUs supported by the respective mainboard. For the ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming this is

It is important not only to check whether the CPU is listed. If it is listed, there is also a note on which version of the BIOS the motherboard must have in order for the CPU to work.
To run a Ryzen 7 3800X, the BIOS must have at least version 2301.
If this is not the case, you have to upgrade it.
