Question about Seagate BarraCuda
Can anyone help me - that would be great: Can I install the hard drive in the quick release drawer of my 2017 Acer Predator G6-710 (Intel Core i7-7700K, 64 GBRAM, GTX 1080, Win10-64 bit ) ? I can't find any information anywhere about the standard of the quick-release drawer connector ? Acer has not answered me (so far), I can't find a manual or any other information about the connection of the quick-release drawer anywhere. Many thanks in advance! That should fit. The computer is not that old and nothing has really changed with SATA since then.
A SATA hard disk only needs two connections. The narrow one for data and the wide one for power (page 23).

The bay, or quick-change drawer, is definitely for 3.5 inches. But I was wondering if the connector would fit: Now I've photographed inside the bay and to me it doesn't look exactly/entirely like the identical mating part when I compare it on the photo of the plate: the mating part in the bay is a connector with 15 plus 7 pins with a small separating bar in between and on this bar a bulge downwards on each. That fits as far as I can tell - the Seagate drive seems to have that too, or the counterpart to it, ...
BUT there is another separate connector with 4 pins right next to it, for which there is no counterpart in the bay.
I bought my computer at the beginning of 2017 - at that time, the SATA III standard was probably/hopefully already standard for my PC....and the hard disk has SATA III and a release date from mid-2017. So I have good hopes - but I don't know anything about it and have only "researched" it now. Maybe my computer is also equipped for SATA II or 3.2...? Would that be compatible then? Unfortunately I have too little idea - according to my "net research" this should be compatible ??

There are two standards for this: 3.5 inch or 2.5 inch. If the slot is 10 cm wide and deeper than that. Then it fits. Otherwise probably only a small 2.5 inch... Thirdly, there are very small plug-in cards. But these usually go directly onto the mainboard.
