No, it doesn't work like that.

If you want to connect the MyPassport Ultra to the iPad, the easiest way is by cable. To do this, you need the following equipment:
- Apple Lightning USB 3 camera adapter
- Lightning power adapter that can supply enough power for the MyPassport Ultra

Please note that not all iOS apps can access the external HD!
