Can the mouse also be connected to the PC without Bluetooth and via the cable?

I have just tested this, unfortunately it does not work!
You can use the mouse either via Bluetooth or via the Unifying receiver (USB plug) with your computer. The PC itself does not need Bluetooth, it works with the included Unifying receiver.
The cable itself only seems to charge the mouse.
