Can this camera also be used outside - in a place that is totally protected from rain? Or is this not possible because of the humidity?

Well... I wouldn't... because of the cold. Camera only works with 2.4 Ghz... not 5 Ghz radio, too bad... but it works fine for me in the kitchen through the window...
