can this fan be used as a case fan, and is it quiet at idle when controlled by PWM? Can you hear it at all when it's 500 to 800rpm?

Those are very quiet (not silent) when running at low rpm. I've got four of them in a Fractal Design case as case fans.

I have the Corsair Commander Pro but then the fan does not work. I am still looking for a programme to control the fan via the normal 4-pin mainboard.
