Can you also scan pages from books with the scanner? In other words, a cover instead of a feeder.

No, it's not possible - it's a feeder scanner that only feeds in individual pages in a stack. Therefore, only a flatbed scanner is suitable for you, e.g. HP Scanjet Pro 2500 F1.
