Theoretically, yes, but it's not a good idea.

Because this external HDD is only connected via USB, you would lose write and read speed. The result is much longer loading times. Moreover, this specific model is not exactly known for fast access speed, which exacerbates the problem.

For games, a hard disk with a SATA connection is therefore much better suited (i.e. internal HDD). Even if you only want to use the HDD for gaming on a PlayStation or XBox, you'd better go for a faster model.
