Can you play CDs, DVDs etc. with the drive and not just burn them? Do you need special software to play CDs, Blu Rays etc.?

Yes, of course it is also possible to play it! Depending on the file format, i.e. CD, DVD or Bluray, the appropriate software is required. (CD/DVD should be able to be played as standard in Windows 10)

Yes, you can play CDs and DVDs.
No, the drive does not need any "special" software, any CD/DVD player software will do.
