Cannot connect the USB C side of the stick to my Mac Book Air M1. The stick is not displayed. But if I plug the stick in with the USB A side via the USB C -> USB A adapter, it works. Why is that?

I have two of these drives that I use on a MacBook Air M1 and on a MacBook M1 Pro via USB-C for TimeMachine. They work perfectly. Maybe it's a defect. Have you been able to test the drive on an Intel?
