I used this adapter with an iPad Pro model A1584 and everything worked fine. To my (Google) knowledge, this iPad came out a little earlier than the iPhone SE (2015 or 2016). Therefore, I see no reason why the adapter should not also be compatible with the iPhone SE. In my opinion, the cable fits in any case.
