Dear Digitec team As you have increasingly read, there is a systematic weak point in the headphones. (Breakage to the earphone) which is not guaranteed. Has this defect been repaired in the meantime and can you buy the headphones without any worries? If it did break. Who pays for the damage? Kind regards

There are still reports of a possible weak point in the hinge of the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones (breakage in the earpiece). As things stand, this design has not been officially revised.
In the event of a warranty claim, the manufacturer categorises such damage as mechanical damage caused by use, which means that the repair will not be covered. Without additional insurance, you may therefore have to pay the repair costs yourself.
In principle, the headphones work very well, but they should be handled with care to minimise the risk of breakage.
