did not know that you have to buy something like that with the laser printer from samsung and that now not even half a year old since it was bought new is this normal? how long does such a drum unit normally last? does the waste toner container also always have to be bought or does it last forever? is there a laser printer from a manufacturer where you NEVER need these 2 things? but only have to buy toner?

I only replaced the unit when the quality decreased. You can take out the container and simply empty it. Then wash it out well and let it dry. But it takes quite a long time until it is full. It depends on how often you print. Half a year doesn't seem normal to me.
