Does anyone have listening experience with the old Apple Airport Express? Is the difference between it and a Sonos port noticeable and present in terms of sound? Does the streamed music from the stereo system sound effectively better thanks to the Sonos port than with the Airport Express?

I don't have any listening experience with Airport Express but I'm pretty sure that the bottleneck today (or even in the last 20 years) is not the electronics but mainly the material at hand (mp3, wav, flac, ogg or whatever).
And in my opinion, the loudspeaker still has by far the greatest influence on the sound.
