Does anyone know the differences between the Sony PULSE 3D Wireless Headset and a comparable other product (Closed headphones with Bluetooth)? Or to put it another way, if I use a non-Sony Bluetooth headset with my PS5, are there any restrictions on using 3D audio? As far as I know, Sony's 3D audio is nothing more than spatial audio. So technically it should work with any headphones, right?

Yes and no. As far as I know, Bluetooth audio does not work on the PS5. That is why a wireless receiver is supplied with the Pulse 3d.
The 3d audio can be used without restriction via 3.5 mm or with any other PS4/PS5 headset.
