Question about WD Red Plus

Does the cache/buffer memory of the individual hard drives play a role when there are several hard drives in a NAS? I want to add a hard drive to an existing NAS with currently 3x WD Red Plus, 6TB, 128MB hard drives (WD60EFZX). Is it possible to add a WD Red Plus, 6TB, 256MB (WD60EFPX) without any problems? Both run with CMR technology. Many thanks for any feedback.

can be connected without any problems. Cache improves read speed. I don't know your raid, but I'm sure you can answer this question yourself. Otherwise, see also "Uwe's" post.

can be connected without any problems. Cache improves read speed. The slowest disc in the chain then sets the tone.

The slowest disc in the chain then sets the tone. As with the real chain and the weak link.
