Does this adapter also work with the Microsoft Surface devices? I know there are several other adapters, the idea would be to be able to use this adapter alternately with a MacBook Pro 16" and a Surface Book 2.

Thank you PZ.BS_TUM for the answer. I have now bought the adapter and was able to gain some experience myself. The adapter basically works with the Surface Book 2, i.e. HDMI and USB-A work, but charging via USB-C does not.

Yes, the Apple adapter also works on our Microsoft Surface. However, I cannot speak for all model variants and updates. The image from the Surface via the Apple adapter (model A2119) is at least displayed, but I have not specifically tried the other functions such as charging or USB interface. If it is about the 4K display on external screens, I advise you to test this. The FullHD display, however, is not a problem. We have had very different experiences with USB-C adapters in terms of displaying images in 4K on different display devices.
