Just tried it out, the USB-C cable is only for charging the built-in battery. The packaging states: Two connection options: Connect via the supplied USB receiver [i.e. also via radio] or via Bluetooth low-energy technology.

Because of the USB receiver, the description probably also says "Peripheral connection: USB, Bluetooth".
