Does this pencil work for iPAD Pro 2018 ? The charging plug should be USB type-c, shouldn't it ?

This is the 1st generation Pencil, which has a Lightning connector and according to the manufacturer site, is not compatible with the new iPad Pro.

You find the 2nd generation Pencil here, which by the way charges wirelessly directly from your iPad and has no additional connector: Apple Pencil (2. Generation)
