Does this scanner have hardware OCR recognition? My goal is to scan the documents into a folder (digital archive) that can be searched so that data within the documents is also recognised.

Yes, ScanSnap can be configured to do OCR in the scanning process. Direct storage in a folder is also possible.

Yes, of course it can do great. But as far as I know, this is due to the resolution of the PDF.
