Has anyone used the battery (or similar batteries) in a cat door and have experience? We have these: https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s15/product/sureflap-connect-katzentuere-katzennetz-13596923 And let tonnes of batteries through. I've already switched to Energizer Lithium in the meantime, which covers about 3 months of use (the door is always exposed to temperatures, of course). A colleague has soldered on a universal power supply unit, which is certainly also a solution. But I don't have the confidence to do that at the moment. And with rechargeable batteries it would at least be a temporary solution until he has time and I can do it with him ;-)

Helpful answer

No cat door, but wireless phones (landline). Very poor result, the rechargeable batteries only lasted a small fraction of normal rechargeable batteries. Unfortunately.

We used the Pale Blue in a SureFlap Connect for about a year. According to Pale Blue, there can be interference with radio equipment (including the cat flap). In our old flat, we had the flap in a glass door and it worked very well. The batteries lasted just over a month. However, as the charging time is very fast (approx. 2 hours), this is not a problem.

In the new house, the flap is now installed in a door with metal reinforcement. The door is already interfering with the flap and with the Pale Blue it was unfortunately too much interference, which is why we have now switched back to normal batteries.

Conclusion: No problem in a glass door / pure wooden door and highly recommended. Possibly too much of a good thing in a metal door.
