Question about Phobya Push button/switch Connection cable
Hello all. I bought this cable to connect a power button to my Raspberry pi 4. However .... I honestly have no idea how to connect the cable to the switch. For power buttons, however, you actually need a momentary switch, i.e. one that only closes the circuit for a short time... Yours is an On/Off, i.e. one that closes/opens the circuit permanently.
You can theoretically install it between the USB power supply and the Pi, so that you interrupt the entire power supply with the off button, but that's not ideal for shutting down, since it's an ungraceful shutdown (see link)... And that would only be possible with soldering.
This cable is intended for ATX motherboards that have suitable pins to which you can connect the cable directly.
