Hello, can I only burn with this device, or can I also insert an installation CD for my printer to install on my laptop? Sorry, maybe a stupid question, but I have no idea about these devices.

It is actually a normal CD/DVD/BD reader and burner. This means that you should be able to insert installation CDs etc. without any problems.
It could only be a little tricky if you want to reinstall the operating system. Then you may have to set something in the bios so that it boots from this device. But that does not affect you in this case.
