Question about HP USB-C-Dockingstation G5

Hello, my girlfriend also bought the G5 for her HP laptop. The laptop is already 5 years old with Win11. It still charges via the round plug and not USB-C. This therefore does not work with the USB-C cable. Unfortunately, the docking station is recognised as an audio device, which is annoying. Also, the screen does not work (HDMI). The screen only works if I plug it directly into the laptop. Does anyone know the problem?

Unfortunately, I have not been able to experience this, as our laptop has a USB-C port. I would try a USB-C to USB-A adapter, e.g. Pearl ZX-5070-675: (relatively cheap, generally useful in a mixed environment of new and older devices).

Try connecting the screen using a DisplayPort cable (not HDMI). I have two screens connected to the docking station and it works perfectly. Regarding the charging function: there is also a version of the docking station with a double cable (USB-C + charging cable) for older devices.
