Hello together Is it mandatory to connect the 4-pin 12V ATX and 8-pin 12V ATX to properly power the CPU? The manual says either both or only the 8-pin. Or does using the 8-pin alone result in poorer CPU performance? Thanks for your answers.

No, the 4pin is not absolutely necessary, it is purely optional for very hungry/overclocked CPUs. The 8 pin is normally sufficient.
