Hi all, I bought the Apple Studio Display Standard (5120 x 2880 pixels, 27") from you. Now my question, what kind of adapter and/or cable do I need to connect my MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017)? Thank you very much!

dear stef.
as rene has already described, it is best to use the supplied usb-c cable. if there is a thunderbolt to usb-c cable, try it (this connection offers the higher throughput).
but now comes the big BUT: the macbook air 2017 with the intel-grafik 6000 delivers a resolution of 1440x900 at best.
I had the same problem with my macbook from 2017 - weak graphics and too little resolution: it was no fun.
CONCLUSION: treat yourself to a newer macbook air or pro with m1 or m2 and retina display with the appropriate graphics (you can find interesting used ones online) and you will see: you will enjoy it! have fun, andi.

Dear Stef. In my case, I wanted to connect my second monitor or my iMac, both from 2017, or use them as a second monitor. My IT advisor then tried to connect them using all the technical possibilities. Conclusion: Unfortunately not possible. Why? Let me put it this way. The older models no longer "get along" technically with the new ones. Not even with special adapters. I don't remember when the changeover from 32 to 64 BIT took place. This change is the killer for the old models.

Hello stef
A USB-C cable is best. (Everything else didn't work for me). Wasn't a cable supplied with the purchase of the screen?
